What you can do...

If you agree that it's time to act responsibly, I encourage you to actively work to change the Internet culture so that responsible free speech is the expected norm and not the exception. Until that happens I can see no other choice but to have legislation like the CDA to provide the incentive for responsible speech that the Internet community has so far been unable to generate within itself.

Some things you can do...

Email the major browser providers -

The following providers have announced support for the PICS standard and should be commended for their support of responsible free speech:

Netscape Navigator
Microsoft Internet Explorer

Netcom Netcruiser

The following providers have not announced support for the PICS standard. Please politely request their support for this emerging standard.

Cyberjack
Spyglass Mosaic

Use a browser or add-in that supports PICS.

Politely email the webmasters and page authors for sites and pages that you find that are not PICS-rated, requesting that they rate their sites and pages.
